At least ten Daesh insurgents were killed in an Afghan air strike in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday evening, local officials said.

The air strike took place in Kot district of the province after an Afghan air force helicopter targeted the group of insurgents, Provincial Police Chief Fazil Ahmad Shirzad said.

There were no civilian casualties during the air strike, he said.

In recent months the Afghan security forces have increased their military operations in eastern parts of Afghanistan especially in Nangarhar to clear all insurgents.
